Wedding Guest Hair and Makeup in Ho Chi Minh City

Wedding Guest Hair and Makeup in Ho Chi Minh City

The last months of the year are peak wedding season in Ho Chi Minh City. The rainy season winds down in November, the evenings cool, and many couples who live abroad choose this window to bring friends and family to Saigon. If you are one of those guests, you land with a dress in your suitcase, a hotel you have never seen, and a ceremony in a city where you do not speak the language.

This guide is for you. It covers what wedding guest hair and makeup costs here, how the day runs, and what to send your makeup artist before you fly.

Why book a makeup artist as a guest

Three things are different about Saigon compared with a wedding at home.

Heat and humidity. Even in December, afternoons sit around 30°C. Makeup that lasts all night in London or Sydney slides off here by the first dance. A local artist builds the base for this climate: thin layers, oil control where you need it, and setting that holds for 8 to 10 hours.

Long days. Vietnamese weddings often have a morning ceremony and an evening reception. Riverside venues outside the city center add travel time. Your look has to last from lunch to midnight.

Photos. Wedding photos here are often shot with flash and warm evening light. The right base looks like skin in photos, not a mask.

How the day works

1. We come to you. Most guests get ready in their hotel room or at the venue. You do not need to find a salon in a city you do not know. See how in-room hair and makeup for visitors works.

2. Timing. Plan about 60 to 90 minutes per person for makeup and hair. If three of you share one artist, start at least 4 to 5 hours before you need to leave. For a 3:00 pm ceremony, that often means a 10:00 am start. We plan the order with you so the person with the most complex hair goes first.

3. The look. Tell us the dress color, the venue (garden, ballroom, riverside), and whether the ceremony is day or night. A soft glam that reads well in daylight photos is different from an evening look under ballroom lights.

4. Touch-up. If the reception is long, ask for a touch-up kit or a return visit before the evening. We tell you the options when we confirm.

Riverside and resort weddings

More couples are choosing venues along the Saigon River, 30 to 60 minutes from District 1. These are beautiful, but they change the plan:

If the whole bridal party is getting ready together, book early. One artist can handle a small group. For 6 to 10 people, we bring a second or third artist so everyone is ready on time.

What to send before you fly

Send this in one message and we can confirm fast:

  1. Wedding date and venue name
  2. Where you want to get ready (hotel name or venue)
  3. Time you need to be ready
  4. Number of people, and who needs hair as well as makeup
  5. A photo of your dress, and one or two looks you like
  6. Anything about your skin we should know: sensitive, oily, allergies to specific products

FAQ

Can you do makeup for darker or olive skin tones? Yes. We match the base to your undertone, not to a "lighter is better" standard. We work with guests from Europe, Australia, South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Do you bring everything? Yes. Products, tools, lighting and hair tools. You only need a chair near a window or a mirror and a power socket.

Can men get grooming too? Ask us. Light grooming for groomsmen and fathers is often possible on the same visit.

Is it cheaper to book a salon? Sometimes. But you pay in time: taxi, waiting, and redoing your hair after the ride in the heat. For a wedding day, having the artist come to you is usually the calmer choice.
