How much does bridal makeup cost in Ho Chi Minh City?
At KINKAY in Ho Chi Minh City, bridal is priced by session. The morning ceremony is 3,000,000 VND. The wedding reception is 5,000,000 VND. All-day care, where Kay stays through the day and changes the look fully between the two, is 2,000,000 VND. The full wedding day with both sessions and all-day care is 10,000,000 VND. A trial is 2,000,000 VND and is not compulsory.
Mother of the bride or groom is 2,500,000 VND per person, bridesmaids and family 1,800,000 VND each, and tea-ceremony tray bearers 1,000,000 VND each. For a destination wedding in Vietnam — Da Nang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Da Lat — travel and accommodation are quoted as one total before you confirm, with nothing added afterwards. If this is your first one, it is not one event. It is two, and they are very different. Nobody tells foreign brides this until the week before.
At the family home, traditional, usually in áo dài, and it starts early. Five or six in the morning is normal because the hour is chosen to be auspicious. The room is small, the light is warm, and there are a lot of relatives and a lot of photographs at close range. The makeup has to look correct in a photo taken from one metre away.
A hotel or restaurant ballroom, western-style, a different dress and a different look. Stage lighting, a long night, hundreds of guests. Kay comes back between the two events to change the look completely — this is not a touch-up, it is a second face for a second occasion.
Because it is two full applications separated by eight hours, plus re-touching on the spot through both, plus the whole day held on the calendar. The ancestral-ceremony-only tier exists for couples who are genuinely not having an evening reception. If there is a reception, it falls under the full day.
Mothers, bridesmaids, sisters, and the tea-ceremony tray bearers — the young relatives who carry the gift trays in the morning. They all appear in the same photographs as you. Tell Kay the headcount in advance so she brings assistants and nobody is waiting in a queue at five in the morning.
The ceremony and the reception are separate sessions and they add up — book either one, or both with all-day care as the full wedding day. This is the part most price lists leave vague.
