Why is headshot makeup different from event makeup?

A headshot is viewed at close range on a screen and is usually retouched afterwards. Heavy powder, visible edges and strong contouring all become obvious at that distance and make the retoucher's job harder. The base has to hold texture rather than erase it.

Does Kay work with my photographer?

Yes. Kay works alongside the photographer and studio you have already booked, or she can come to their studio. For team shoots she keeps a consistent look across everyone in the set.

Do you do makeup for men?

Yes. For business headshots this is grooming rather than makeup: controlling shine, evening out redness, and tidying brows so the camera does not exaggerate them. Nothing that reads as makeup in the final image.

A lens at one metre sees everything

Event makeup is built for distance and low light. A headshot is the opposite: a sharp lens close to the face, even light, and an image that will be retouched afterwards and then looked at on a phone.
